About SafetySuit
At the end of 2012, SafetySuit, the Nashville-based pop/rock band had just finished a full year of touring, experienced the thrill of a #1 record, endured a split with their label, and found themselves rebuilding their entire team from the ground up. From that point forward, the band who created the hit singles "Stay", "Never Stop", "Anywhere But Here", and "These Times", began teasing new songs, new tour dates, and an overall new approach to the future.
After finishing studio sessions with producers Tim Pagnotta (Walk the Moon) and Smith Carlson (OneRepublic), the band emerged with "Looking Up", the first single off their self-titled record "SAFETYSUIT". The infectious pop smash immediately caught the ear of Sirius/XM program director Jim Ryan, and within a week the band released the feel good song exclusively through the Pulse on Sirius/XM.
In February 2016, the band headed back out on the road for a national headline tour which proved to be the most successful tour of their career to that point. The fall of 2016 included a 3 month tour supporting the Goo Goo Dolls, and a full album release. 2017 saw another headlining tour followed by the release of the #YouAreThePerfectColor EP and campaign, using their platform to promote anti-bullying awareness and personal empowerment. "It's always been our purpose to use our music and our platform to promote a positive message of hope and acceptance," said bassist Jeremy Henshaw. "We want anyone who might be having a hard time right now to know that you are seen, you are loved, and you have great value." The band donated a portion of the EP's first-week sales to nonprofit organizations and created an international movement with more than 1 billion impressions encouraging fans to embrace who they are.
Despite the success, their philosophy stays the same. "Work hard and be good to people," says lead singer Doug Brown, "and everything else will work itself out."
The Intention
It's always been our purpose to use our music and our platform to promote a positive message of hope and acceptance. We want anyone who might be having a hard time right now to know that you are seen, you are loved, and you have great value.
